The Heart of Our Work

Fundraising and volunteering are central to The Fellowship’s mission. During the 2023 - 24 academic year, The Fellowship developed meaningful connections with multiple charities in the surrounding area such as Families First and the St Andrews Harbour Trust. At both of these charities, the Fellowship has worked hard to donate funds raised by our events. Aiming to diversify its volunteering efforts and expand its reach, The Fellowship has raised thousands of pounds this year which has largely benefitted our charitable partners.

FAMILIES FIRST

We have proudly been supporting Families First with events and volunteering for quite some time. Families First is a St Andrews-based charity that provides support to families and the community in the Fife area during challenging times. They support a wide range of people, from children and young people to families and the elderly. Founded through the St Andrews Baptist Church in 2001, Families First is dedicating their activities to their core values which are: show kindness, show fairness, be respectful, be friendly and be helpful. The Fellowship has proudly been supporting Families First and is resonating with these values as well. We have run events in the past in support of this incredible cause and have been able to donate 3300 GBP to this point.

ST ANDREWS HARBOUR TRUST

After the devastating impact storm Babet had on one of the most iconic landmarks in St Andrews, the St Andrews Pier has been an important cause that lies near and dear to many fellows. The St Andrews Harbour Trust is tasked with maintaining the harbour and pier, ensuring facilities are regularly maintained and that the environment is controlled in a safe and sustainable manner. Their directives are improving and promoting the St Andrews Harbour and the area to benefit the wider St Andrews community, with lies along the Fellowship’s aims of improving town and gown relations. We have proudly been supporting the St Andrews Harbour Trust through a donation of approximately 4000, which we raised through sponsored events such as “Vic Dip” in May 2024.
